And furthermore, with their service and recommendations, I have never had a vehicle breakdown or fail me.

We had just arrived to the OBX for vacation when our Avalanche had trouble starting. We run an automotive repair shop in Maryland and we know how important it is to get quality service. After talking to some contacts in the industry, we got several recommendations for Lighthouse Automotive. We called first thing on Monday, and John was able to squeeze us in (We were supposed to leave on Wednesday). They quickly diagnosed our issue, gave us a reasonable estimate, and got us back on the road on Wednesday. Our service advisor Levi was very professional and thorough, and called us every day with updates. We can't say enough about the team at Lighthouse and the work they did for us!

The guy tried to rip me off. I notified the state also. Last month I was visiting the OBX and my rear bearings went in my car. I had the new part already. I asked him to replace it so I could get the car home. After a few days he came back with $2500 quote saying that I wouldn't be able to drive the car home unless I had all this random stuff done. After paying him a $90 diagnostic fee which I didn't not ask for him to do, I had the car towed home instead for $1k then had the repair done for $250 same day. I wouldn't recommend if you're from out of town. Not sure how he treats the locals.

When your vehicle arrived, we verified the wheel bearing concern and also found that the rear brakes were in a severely worn condition. Based on what our technicians observed, we did not feel the vehicle could be safely driven a long distance without addressing those issues. Our recommendations were made out of concern for your safety and the reliability of the vehicle, not to suggest repairs that weren't needed. We understand that receiving unexpected repair recommendations while traveling can be stressful, and we respect your decision to have the vehicle towed home for a second opinion. While we're sorry that our recommendations did not align with your expectations, they were made based on the condition of the vehicle at the time of inspection. The work was performed professionally and while there were some problems that caused delays, I was pleased with the results. The staff is skilled and they are dedicated to providing professional services. It shows in their approach to customer service and it shows in the way they maintain their shop area as well. I think this NAPA shop is a real community asset

Excellent honest, friendly service. I was on vacation. They scheduled me in a timely manner, diagnosed my problem, fixed it and charged me a very fair price. (They also threw in a sandwich and soda from a local food vendor who was making his daily rounds!). Many Thanks
