Excellent service as always

State inspection.. Everyone was courteous, polite, and they worked me in without an appointment.

David as usual did a great job especially since the part isn’t available anymore but was able to locate for me.

David worked on my car because they thought I was going to leave car there. I didn’t know that.

On my way out of Manteo for a day of sightseeing in Corolla, I noticed my 'check engine' light came on suddenly and I couldn't understand why. I stopped by Lighthouse Automotive and asked if they wouldn't mind checking it out as we were from out of state. I hadn't really even finished my question before one of the service reps asked for my keys and before I knew it, my car was in the bay. Five minutes later, a tech came back with my keys and said it was a simple fix - the gas cap wasn't on tight which caused the light to come on. They would not accept any payment. Thank you so much for saving our vacation!!!

They don’t actually want your business. My daughter’s car wouldn’t start so we called Lighthouse about having it towed there. They wouldn’t take it because their repair services are 2 weeks out. Ok, fair enough, if we have to wait 2 weeks, not a problem. The lady then emphasized at LEAST 2 weeks so they just wouldn’t be able to help us. Ummm, ok?? I asked if she had a recommendation for another shop that might be able to repair BMWs. The woman said no. I asked if she had any advice on what might she do if she was in my shoes. She said I’d be googling places. Ok…I asked if anyone else there might be able to point us in the right direction and she said, “No.” I’m completely capable of Googling (that’s how I found Lighthouse) so I wasn’t expecting someone else to do the legwork. I’m not even upset they wouldn’t take the car. Even though we were willing to wait weeks for a repair, I have no idea what their lot/garage space is like - they might not have room for it to sit there for weeks. Again, fair enough. But I would expect a place with tons of 5 star reviews to at least be friendly or helpful, not even expecting both. It just felt like a complete inconvenience that I called. And I was as friendly, polite, and submissive as possible. Feels like my experience was very different than all of the other reviews so, hopefully, it was just a one-time situation.

Fast & efficient

Our check engine light came and car started acting up on while vacation. Needless to say I freak out being over 500 miles from home. These guys were absolutely fantastic! The calmed my nerves and had the car fixed the next day. If you’re in the Outer Banks and need unexpected work, please use these guys! So friendly, so nice and absolutely amazing!

I needed a boat trailer tire replaced during the week of July 4. The place I had originally bought the tires from in Manteo said they could not help me. Lighthouse Automotive worked me in and replaced the tire even though they were booked out for 10 days.

First-class customer service! Alex, at Lighthouse, is an honest professional who works for you and with you. They are intentional in helping you make the wisest decision and I intend to go back for further services and/or suggestions. This is exactly the type of local garage everyone looks for.
